Long Beach Coast and Long Beach Airport Launch Citywide Poster Contest for Inaugural Season
Local artists to be featured at Long Beach Airport and Opening Week.
The Long Beach Coast is calling on local artists to help make history.
In partnership with Long Beach Airport, the city’s baseball team has announced a citywide art contest to design its official Inaugural Season Community Poster, offering residents a chance to leave a lasting mark on the team's highly anticipated debut.
The organization is seeking original designs that capture the energy of baseball, summer nights, and the unique cultural spirit of the LBC. The competition is open to creatives of all ages, split into an Open Division for adults 18 and older, and a Youth Division for artists 17 and under.
Entries will be evaluated on creativity, visual impact, and alignment with the community theme. The judging panel features renowned Long Beach artist Francisco Reyes Jr., alongside representatives from both the Long Beach Coast and Long Beach Airport.
The stakes are high for local talent. The Open Division winner will have their artwork distributed as an official stadium giveaway to fans during Opening Week on Thursday, June 4. Additionally, their winning piece will be showcased in a season-long installation at Long Beach Airport. The adult winner will also earn the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and take home a $1000 cash prize.
The Youth Division winner will step onto the field as the official "Play Ball Kid" for the June 4 game and receive a $250 cash prize. Both division winners, along with the top 10 finalists from each category, will receive game tickets, on-field pregame recognition, and have their artwork prominently displayed in the stadium's concourse gallery.
Artists have until Sunday, May 17, to submit their 11-by-17-inch, print-ready designs. Finalists will be announced on May 22, ahead of the grand reveal during Opening Week.
